Stay in the Fight!
The fear instinct is a biological trait that is encoded into our brains as a survival mechanism. It serves to keep us alive when confronted by true danger; but left unchecked, this biological trait will cause your body and soul to atrophy.
Expeditionary
An expedition is more than just a trip from one place to another. It’s an odyssey into the wild. There’s no infrastructure to support your endeavor. It’s just you and what you bring with you. You pack in your own equipment. You move into a hostile environment, and you sustain yourself until the mission is accomplished. You fight your way in, and you fight your way out.
Never Satisfied
Complacency is an insidious killer. In the wilderness, complacency could easily lead to serious injury or death. In military operations, complacency leads to blue force losses and mission failure. True warriors know that you’re only as good as your last battle. Yesterday’s victories will not carry you through today. There’s always another battle to fight, another mountain to climb, another challenge to face.
Vul Time
Vulnerability time, or “vul time” for short, is the point of maximum exposure and danger. Vul time is when the risk is greatest. Fighter pilots are willing to accept the risk and face the danger in order to defend their comrades. What is your vul time?
Rage Against the Status Quo
Status quo is the term we use to describe the way things are—a way of life or a way of doing business that is popularly accepted. Here at DEFIANT, the status quo is our arch enemy. We refuse to let problems go unaddressed simply because someone else hasn’t solved them. We’re willing to tackle a problem and work through numerous failed experiments, if that’s what it takes, until we solve it. We invite you to join us in the never-ending quest to surpass the status quo.
